What a year it has been for Parkl! As 2024 winds down, it is a great time to reflect on everything we have accomplished (and we have, a lot!). But more than that, we are thinking about all of you: the customers, partners, and colleagues who have made this year so rewarding. In the following article, we’ll look back on our team’s growth, key achievements, and major milestones from the year that helped us further to shape the future of emobility.
Growing the team: the people powering Parkl
At Parkl, our mission is simple: to make life easier for companies and drivers alike. Whether you need a spot to park or want to charge your electric car, we have got you covered. But how do we make it all happen? It is simple: our success comes down to our exceptional team. Their dedication and expertise define Parkl, and we are proud of the impact they make every day.
2024 has been a year of growth. We are closing the year with 40 colleagues, with 17 joining this year, each bringing their own expertise to the table.
'We are all working towards something impactful that can help mobility become more sustainable, and you can sense the energy of this in every project we do,' says Andras Csizmadia, Marketing Manager at Parkl.
Our team members are not only talented professionals but also bring unique interests and skills to the mix. Beyond building the next generation of mobility for corporations and drivers, our team enjoyed a lots of activities outside work together this year. Such as participating in the Ultra Tiszató marathon, preparing Christmas presents for children in need and altogether, showing our shared sense of community.
How partnerships are shaping our mission
This year, we collaborated with some truly outstanding partners. We kicked off 2024 with our ongoing strategic partnership with Schneider Electric. It is our common goal to bring smart EV charging and other e-mobility solutions to commercial real estate across Europe.
Another highlight of the year was when we managed to secure an investment from Lead Ventures, enabling us to scale our mobility services across the CEE region. The substantial funding supports our mission to deliver smarter parking and EV charging solutions, empowering businesses to achieve their sustainability goals while adapting to modern work trends.
'Alongside workplace charging, we aim to make charging as simple and easy as possible for everyone. With our work in e-mobility, we have strengthened our position as one of Hungary's biggest charging networks, becoming the second largest charging point operator of the country,' says Zsolt Somogyi, Managing Director at Parkl.
Our strategic partnership with CPI Hungary was also an important cornerstone of 2024. Together, we are modernising parking and EV charging systems across 21 office buildings, offering tenants and employees a user-friendly solution tailored to evolving needs.
A rather recent milestone of this collaboration was transforming STOP SHOP’s charging infrastructure with 116 charging points at 14 locations across Hungary, making sustainable mobility more accessible nationwide.
We have been also working with some other notable partners this year, including OTP Real Estate Investment Fund Management Ltd., Gránit Fund Management Ltd., and BMW Hungary. These collaborations are helping us build a better, more sustainable future for smart digital mobility.
Strengthening our presence at home and abroad
Building on our commitment to e-mobility and collaboration, this year was filled with meaningful events and recognitions. We began with a strategic partnership with Schneider Electric and participated in the Flotta Okosan event. Our achievements were recognised with the Deloitte Fast 50 Impact Stars award, which we are proud to have earned this year too.
Internationally, we shared insights on corporate e-mobility at the Property Forum events in Prague and Warsaw where our COO, Gabor Toth explained how electric vehicles, sustainable practices and ESG compliance increase the sustainability efforts of real estates.
'Electric mobility was born digitally, embodying the digitalisation of transportation, further motivating the real estate sector to digitise processes,' says Gabor Toth, COO at Parkl.
In Hungary, we attended the Proptech Hungary 2024, took part in the Év Irodája and Ingatlan Regatta events as well as multiple Portfolio conferences, and hosted our own Fleet Management Workshop where we reflected on different aspects of corporate e-mobility from ESG through taxation to fire safety.
Additionally, we joined key industry gatherings such as the Leasing Professional Day and the Battery Association Professional Day where we had the chance to discuss the future of e-mobility with key stakeholders in the industry.
Bigger network, more impact
All in all, looking back at the numbers, we are feeling pretty proud. We have now got over 1,000 charging points across Hungary, providing EV drivers with the second-largest charger infrastructure in the country. We are helping over 340,000 registered users charge their cars, manage parking, and altogether simplify their daily routines. And we are just getting started.
Here's to 2025
As we look ahead to 2025, we are feeling excited about what is next. We will keep expanding our network, improving our app, and working with more partners to make mobility smarter for everyone. For example, next year, we are going to launch one of our biggest projects yet.
A huge thank you to our amazing team, our partners, and everyone who has been part of this journey. We could not have done it without you, and we cannot wait to see what the next year brings.
