Budapest, 5 November 2024 – STOP SHOP, with the help of Parkl Digital Technologies, is upgrading the entire charging infrastructure of its 14 shopping parks in Hungary, which consists of 116 charging points. This will provide visitors and domestic electric vehicle owners with an easy-to-use, modern charging solution across the country.
As part of the project, the STOP SHOP shopping parks will offer customers and electric vehicle owners 116 charging points at 14 locations, with an average charging capacity of 22 kW and a charging fee of HUF 170 per kWh, which is below the market average.
Balázs Sipos, Retail Asset Manager for STOP SHOP in Hungary, emphasised:
“Our aim is for our customers to enjoy their time at STOP SHOP parks without worry, which is why we offer sustainable additional services, such as electric vehicle charging. Parkl was the ideal choice to develop our existing system, as it enables our customers to manage their charging through a smart system, while we can rest assured that the operation is in good hands.”
"Alongside workplace charging, we strive to offer a smooth charging experience for as many people as possible. With the developments we've made in e-mobility, we have solidified our position as one of Hungary’s largest charging networks," said Zsolt Somogyi, CEO of Parkl Digital Technologies.
This collaboration marks another significant milestone for Parkl, being a new chapter in the strategic partnership announced in early July with CPI Hungary. Under this partnership, Parkl is modernising the parking management and electric vehicle charging services for CPI’s entire office portfolio of 21 properties, all within a single user-friendly system.
As Hungary’s second-largest e-mobility service provider, Parkl already serves over 300,000 registered users, providing seamless parking and charging across nearly 1,000 charging points via an integrated platform. The collaboration between CPI Hungary and Parkl clearly demonstrates both companies' commitment to sustainable transport and a modern customer experience.
