Museum Underground Garage: The Garage of the Future and the Country's Largest Charging Hub
Since December, Parkl has been operating Hungary's largest continuous charging hub. Commissioned by Városliget Zrt., the project at the Museum Underground Garage can rightfully be called our most complex project to date: In addition to Parkl operating all 24 electric car charging points in the underground garage, we also implemented the complete digitalisation of the parking system. From the barriers to the chargers, you can even control the lifts with your mobile phone at the touch of a button. Sometimes, you don't even need to take out your phone...
During the planning and construction phase of the Museum Underground Garage, consideration was given to meeting future demands. Projections and trends indicate that in a few years there will be a high demand for electric vehicles and, consequently, for electric charging in Hungary. The aim of the charging hub at the Museum Underground Garage is to provide services that cater to both current and future needs, as required by the development of e-mobility.
Regarding electric charging facilities, the underground garage beneath Városliget has a total of 24 charging points available for electric vehicle users. These include 20 AC fast chargers with a capacity of 22 kW and 4 rapid chargers capable of up to 90 kW maximum output. While such large charging hubs are quite common in other, mainly Western, countries, this phenomenon is still unique in Hungary. Currently, this is the charging hub capable of simultaneously charging the most electric cars in the country.
In addition to the garage's unique and modern design, our smart parking system further enhances the user experience to be truly 21st-century: thanks to the instant parking feature, you don’t even need to take out your phone when entering and exiting. Licence plate recognition cameras identify your car and the barrier automatically opens. The same process occurs when exiting, with the added convenience that payment is also processed automatically via your registered bank card, making the experience completely cashless.
