Gaining a Competitive Edge in the Office Market with Smart Parking

Digital Parking and Electric Charging with Parkl at the New Futureal Office Building

In the heart of Budapest, the first phase of the Corvin Innovation Campus office complex has been completed, extending the Corvin Promenade. This modern, sustainable, and people-centred office building offers over 16,000 square metres of office space for tenants. Designed according to the BREEAM Excellent and WELL Platinum standards, the building prioritises not only health and safety but also the positive impact on employee well-being.


One of Futureal’s key considerations was the comfort and expectations of its tenants, aiming to meet the needs of major tenants, including one of the world’s leading IT companies, which has established its new Hungarian headquarters here. As such, the implementation of smart parking was crucial, with the partnership on this project dating back to September 2020. Futureal worked closely with Parkl from the early stages of construction to ensure that tenant needs were fully met.


Futureal recognised the potential of smart parking as a strategic step to distinguish their office building from others in the market. For large companies, seamless parking in office buildings is essential, and Parkl was the obvious partner to help Futureal achieve this.


The underground car park at the Corvin Innovation Campus offers a total of 257 spaces for tenants, which would pose a significant challenge without Parkl Office. Therefore, the pre-booking system was a key solution. Thanks to this service, office workers can reserve parking spaces in advance via a mobile app, optimising the use of the car park.


Additionally, they wanted to manage dedicated parking spaces for senior management within the same system, ensuring that all leaders and employees could access automatic barrier entry via number plate recognition, without the need to even take out their phone upon arrival. With several employees commuting by motorbike, special attention was given during construction to ensure smooth motorbike parking as well.


With the growing number of electric vehicles, Futureal recognised the necessity of installing electric chargers. This is not only driven by the need to green the corporate fleet but also by the increasing number of employees switching to electric cars, as demonstrated by the tenant company. Regardless of the in-house fleet requirements, the installation of chargers became essential.


Consequently, managing charging and parking within a single system became crucial for the property developer. Moreover, Parkl not only installs the charging points but also takes on their technical and IT management. Currently, there are 27 charging points on site, including both wall-mounted and pillar units.
