NN Insurance entered the Hungarian market in 1991 as a greenfield investment under the name Nationale-Nederlanden. THE PROBLEM
NN Insurance currently rents 120 parking spaces at the Váci Greens office building. In the past, parking spaces were allocated to specific individuals according to their roles. However, many employees spend a large part of their working day at external locations and meetings, meaning their allocated parking spaces often stood empty. In addition, the parking system, including the number plate recognition system, was unreliable, causing frequent inconveniences for employees.
THE SOLUTION: AN AUTOMATED OFFICE PARKING SOLUTION
NN Insurance’s main goal was to introduce an automated office parking solution that would simplify life for everyone—from the operations team to colleagues arriving at the car park, and visitors alike.
“The new number plate recognition camera installed by Parkl has worked perfectly since its introduction. Initially, the barrier was slow to open, but as soon as we informed the Parkl team, they responded promptly, and now it operates quickly,” said Sándor Földes, fleet manager at NN Insurance.
Improving car park utilisation was also a key objective. Parking spaces in office buildings are usually leased under long-term contracts, which result in significant fixed monthly costs for companies. Parkl Office’s automated office parking solution booking system was implemented for two-thirds of the previously dedicated parking spaces, tailored to meet the unique needs of NN, providing the company with a personalised parking solution. Since customer satisfaction and experience are key priorities for NN Insurance, they aim to deliver this quality from the moment clients arrive at their office. Although providing parking for visitors was not one of the primary goals or problems to be solved, it has become one of the most popular features of the Parkl Office system used by the company.
THE RESULT
“Thanks to Parkl Office’s features, such as employee booking, visitor parking, and permit management, we have increased parking utilisation from around 40% to 82%. We have received numerous positive feedbacks from both colleagues and visiting clients about how much easier the parking process has become,” said Sándor.
According to Sándor, this success is due not only to the reliable operation of the automated office parking solution but also to the associated administration platform, which allows authorised personnel to easily modify bookings and visitor parking arrangements.
“The platform itself is user-friendly and intuitive, but the patience and helpfulness of the Parkl team made it even easier to master the use of the administration interface,” Sándor concluded.
